The British Parking Association (BPA) has published a 21-page paper intended to assist its members in the decision-making process regarding installing Electric Vehicle (EV) charge points. It is an in-depth account of what electric vehicles are, the current EV landscape, the policy surrounding EV and the funding opportunities available.
Powerstar was approached to contribute to the document with a focus on providing advice and guidance for BPA members on integrating renewables with EV charging and the benefits that the combined solution can offer.
Page 11 of the report references the VIRTUE EV technology specifically and displays a concept of a typical installation and an overview of the Isle of Wight Project which utilised the technology, in addition to explaining how ‘introducing local storage can greatly reduce any demand spikes by utilising stored energy to deal with the sudden ramp up of power’.
It is hoped the piece can provide a basis to help consumers make well-informed decisions with regards to installing charge points and the various policies and incentives for them to make a start.
