Welcome to the latest round-up, summarising and showcasing the highlights of the latest news, activities and events of Powerstar and the industry for you.
1) Preventing climate catastrophe
Following the IPCC’s report on the catastrophic effects of climate change, the efforts to limit climate change to a maximum of 1.5°C have been intensified.
In the latest Industry Insight, Powerstar summarises the benefits of limiting climate change to this level and the role energy storage can play in doing so on both an international and a corporate level, as well as the technology’s business case and the additional benefits it provides.
2) Healthy savings for Quorn
As a company with environmental sustainability at its core, meat substitute food producer, Quorn, seeks to lower its impact on the environment in any way possible.
This is why, following a review of its Billingham site, Powerstar identified that the site would benefit from replacing its ageing transformers.
These transformers were replaced with two Powerstar HV MAX systems, a solution which combines variable voltage optimisation with a super low loss amorphous core transformer, that helped the site to achieve a substantial reduction in energy consumption.
3) Webinar on demand: The business case for energy storage
VIRTUE webinar recording With the increased focus on maximising renewable generation and the clean energy benefits of energy storage, other areas that make up the business case can often be overlooked.
This is why Powerstar’s latest webinar ‘The business case for energy storage: energy resilience’ features Powerstar VIRTUE Sales Manager, Ricky Higgins, discussing the various ways in which energy storage technology can provide revenues and cost savings, including securing the supply through full site-wide Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) capabilities.
