Introduction
Atlantis The Palm Hotel in Dubai is a joint venture between Kerzner International Holdings Limited and Istithmar on the Palm Island. The hotel was opened in September, 2008.
The hotel is 5 star rated and a landmark of the city known worldwide. Situated on the Palm, a man-made island based on the myth of Atlantis which includes distinct Arabian elements, it’s one of Dubai’s most luxurious resorts.
The Challenge
The Atlantis management were spending a considerable amount of Dirhams on their electricity consumption and were actively seeking ways to reduce the consumption along with the reduction of carbon footprint.
The challenge was to reduce the energy consumption thereby reducing their electricity bills and carbon emissions.
The Solution
The Powerstar team presented the voltage optimisation solution to Atlantis management and explained the benefits of reduced voltage output, (guaranteed energy savings and reduced maintenance costs capabilities) Atlantis decided to proceed with a 898KVA Powerstar system.
The Powerstar system was constructed for the panel which was feeding the Atlantis water park . With this particular panel being their highest energy consumer.

- CO2 Emissions Reduced Per Annum: 186.5 tonnes
Benefits
Guaranteed savings of 9.3% was given to Atlantis, The Palm and this was beaten by 1.6% and as a result of the overall savings have saved on electricity costs and reduced their carbon emissions.
