Atlantis, The Palm Hotel
CUSTOMER
Atlantis The Palm Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is a joint venture between Kerzner International Holdings Limited and Istithmar on the Palm Island. The hotel was opened in September, 2008.
The hotel is 5-star rated and a landmark of the city known worldwide. Situated on the Palm, a man-made island based on the myth of Atlantis which includes distinct Arabian elements, it’s one of Dubai’s most luxurious resorts.
Challenge
The Atlantis management was spending a considerable amount of Dirhams on their electricity consumption and was actively seeking ways to reduce the consumption along with the reduction of carbon footprint.
The challenge was to reduce the energy consumption thereby reducing their electricity bills and carbon emissions.
SOlution
The Powerstar team presented the voltage optimisation solution to Atlantis management and explained the benefits of reduced voltage output, (guaranteed energy savings and reduced maintenance costs capabilities) Atlantis decided to proceed with a 898KVA Powerstar voltage optimisation system.
The Powerstar system was constructed for the panel which was feeding the Atlantis water park . With this particular panel being their highest energy consumer.
Results
Guaranteed savings of 9.3% was given to Atlantis, The Palm and this was beaten by an extra 1.6% and as a result of the overall savings, Powerstar’s Voltage Optimisation has delivered. They have saved on electricity costs and reduced their carbon emissions.
