The Coral Beach Hotel & Resort in Paphos, Cyprus, is member of Leptos Calypso Hotels Group, a leading hotel chain operating in Cyprus and Greece.


The Coral Beach Hotel & Resort, occupies a superb location in Cyprus overlooking the golden sandy beaches and sparkling waters of Coral bay.


The group is actively seeking ways to reduce its impact on the environment and works with suppliers, partners and team members to ensure that everyone understands the environmental effect of their operations.

All areas of the business are targeted with reducing energy and water consumption and increasing recycling levels.


The Management team of Coral Beach Hotel & Resort, after carrying out market research among different energy saving solutions and energy saving companies in the Cyprus market, selected and preferred the technology of Powerstar.

In July 2011 two Powerstar 1000kVA systems were installed which guaranteed savings to the Hotel and therefore a reduction in the energy bill and enrichment of Leptos Calypso Hotels Group CSR policy.


Savings in the total electricity consumption of the Coral Beach Hotel & Resort have exceeded the guaranteed percentage of 6.2% and hit an amazing result of 16% in kWh per bed night.

Furthermore Powerstar saved 6% in maximum demand (kVA) for Coral Beach Hotel & Resort.

Powerstar has also enabled the hotel to achieve considerably lower CO2 emissions and help to reduce the impact on the environment.

Savings Analysis

Following installation, Powerstar achieved the following results:

Total kWh hours only: 15%
kWh per bed night: 16%
Total kVA: 6%
kVA per bed night: 19%
