ipH Cold Storage, Cyprus

Introduction

Founded in 1981, ipH is the agent and distributor of over 50 leading chilled, dry and frozen brands in the Cyprus retail market and covers the complete needs of establishments in the HORECA section.

A number of products are cut and re-packed by ipH in Cyprus under the license of its suppliers for the needs of the Cyprus market. ipH is proud to be the sole and exclusive distributor of all products supplied to McDonald’s in Cyprus. Other brands and partners ipH work with include Starbucks, Evian, Volvic, Lurpak, Benacol and Lu Tuc.

The privately owned premises of ipH include a warehouse and distribution center, in the Latsia Industrial area. ipH distribution network covers all of Cyprus, serving more than 2,200 customers on a daily basis with a fleet of 70 trucks and vans.

The Challenge

ipH is committed to the improvement of energy efficiency and has invested in many high efficiency equipment at their facility such as ammonia industrial refrigeration (NH3), a/c units (inverters) and hydraulic lift motors. ipH management were looking to voltage optimisation technology as their next energy efficient installation.

The Solution

The Powerstar team conducted a full site survey, recorded the income voltage at the site as 234V and provided a techno-economical proposal with guaranteed saving results for the installation of a PowerStar 500KVA unit.The installation reduced voltage to 224V, reducing energy consumption by 10%, with a total payback period of 2.5 years.

Benefits

The electricity consumption of IPH will be annually reduced by 94784.43kWh and associated reduction in kVA (10%).
