Voltage Optimisation
As well as being the largest specialist nutrition company in Europe, Nutricia is the market leader in the UK.
Nutricia focuses its resources on developing and delivering new solutions to meet both existing and emerging health needs in disease and ageing. Its nutritional solutions are tailor-made to meet the specific nutritional needs associated with a variety of diseases and conditions.
Challenge
As well as health, sustainability is an area of focus for Nutricia, constantly evaluating its environmental impact and actively seeking ways to reduce carbon emissions. Its challenge was to further reduce energy consumption without impacting the sites day to day operations.
Any steps taken would also need to ensure that their operations were shielded from the risk of energy disruption, and would not impact on the price of their products by increasing energy costs.
Solution
Nutricia has been working closely with Powerstar’s approved partner, Central Group, for several years looking to reduce energy usage and make the most of the resources on site. After Central Group carried out an extensive site appraisal for Nutricia, they recommended the installation of a Powerstar VO-MAX 1250kVA voltage optimisation system.
The maximum site voltage was recorded at 243V, around 20V higher than optimal supply needed by the site’s equipment. Fluctuations in the site’s voltage profile meant that a solution that was able to provide dynamic, variable voltage regulation was the best fit for the facility.
Result
- Voltage Optimisation
“We have worked with Central Group for several years now and have always been happy with their work so were keen to hear more about their new partnership with Powerstar.
Everyone was so passionate about the product and its benefits for the environment. It was an easy decision to make as it is in line with everything ourselves and our parent company are aiming to achieve on the sustainability side of the business.”
