The Royal Exchange Theatre has a 750 seat auditorium. The building also includes a 90 seat studio theatre, a great hall which houses a craft shop and cafe, a gallery/exhibition space and various conference rooms.
Challenge
The theatre was concerned about escalating energy costs and were actively seeking ways to reduce electricity consumption. The Powerstar team agreed to schedule the installation to avoid impacting on the theatre event schedule and the comfort and enjoyment of the audience and visitors to the site.
Solution
After installing a 453kVA Powerstar voltage optimisation system the theatre continues to put on top-class shows whilst reducing their carbon footprint.
Results
Following the voltage optimisation installation the Royal Exchange Theatre is enjoying reduced energy consumption of 10.6% and kWh savings of 118,980 kWh per annum.
