Coffee Break with Stuart Little

Once a month, we share a morning coffee break with one of the Powerstar team to find out more insight into their day-to-day role and why they enjoy working within the Energy sector.

This month, we’ve caught up with Stuart Little, one of our Business Development Managers at our Sheffield Head Office. Here’s what he had to say…

What was your first job role within the Energy Sector?

Powerstar is my first job role within the Energy Sector

Describe a typical day at Powerstar

Engaging with customers and business partners to progress new enquiries and projects.  I spend an hour each day ensuring I pick up on any new technology Powerstar is developing within our products and also understanding any new industry legislation and incentives our customers need to know.

What do you enjoy the most about working in Energy?

Its an ever-changing landscape and no 2 days can be the same.  The technology is fantastic and it’s a more solutions-based industry

Are there any drawbacks to working in this sector?

Not really, but keeping up to date with the latest legislation and changes to regulations can be challenging.

What’s your proudest achievement to date? & Do you have any hobbies outside of work?

I play a lot of golf and my greatest achievement is a hole-in-one on a par 4 hole. Anyone who plays golf will know how rare that is.

Advancements in technology often cause significant changes in many industries, such as energy. What recent technological advances have had the biggest impact on your personal life?

Communication through teams, zoom, FaceTime etc has probably made the most impact on my life, from a business and customer engagement perspective.

If you had to give one piece of advice to people seeking jobs in energy, what would it be?

Get involved as soon as you can as it is only going to become busier and even more interesting.
