This short session aims to provide attendees with an insight into the main barriers constraining the wider adoption of electric vehicles (EV) in the UK. A step that is essential to the Government’s ‘Road to Zero’ strategy and other decarbonisation efforts. The webinar will introduce how energy storage combined with EV charging offers a way of overcoming the main objections to EV’s without the need for major infrastructure upgrades.
This webinar is designed to be interesting and useful to businesses that want to discover the exciting opportunities that energy storage can deliver and how the future of road vehicles in the UK needs to be intertwined with energy storage to make it a viable, sustainable solution.
The reality of a connected, intelligent EV charging solution which can be powered off-grid by an energy storage system has become a hot topic due to the recent announcement of the UK government’s plans to ban the sale of petrol and diesel vehicle from 2040. The steps needed to be taken to ensure that this plan becomes a reality will be discussed at the webinar as solutions are introduced that can diminish the typical problems of EV’s such as range anxiety and speed of charging.
The webinar will highlight how quickly the growth of EV’s in the UK has occurred and will also present the business case for electric vehicles, as their low total cost of ownership combined with Government policy that encourages their uptake, means that many businesses could financially benefit from the implementation of an EV fleet.
Delegates will be introduced to an example of a fully integrated energy storage and rapid EV charging solution which has the ability to provide benefits above and beyond the viability of EV in the UK.
Speakers to be announced early June 2018.
