BEIS

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), is the department of government responsible for business, industrial strategy, science, research, innovation, energy & clean growth and climate change.

It was formed in 2016 following the merger of the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

While some responsibilities apply to the whole of the UK, other matters extend to England only due to devolution.
