Coffee Break with… Jazmine Walker
During this month’s coffee break, we caught up with Jazmine Walker, who was worked for Powerstar for 5 years within different areas of the business. Here’s what Jaz had to say…
The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), audits are part of a wider collection of management principles designed to ensure an organisation’s quality management systems continuously meet the needs of customers, staff and other key stakeholders.
Lee Hudson, Chief Operating Officer at Powerstar stated that “driving operational excellence in quality and innovation is at the heart of all we do at Powerstar, and these accreditation’s support our efforts in maintaining the highest of standards for our global clientele.”
The ISO 9001 standard is one of the most widely adopted management standards in the world. The certificate is accredited only to those organisations that have demonstrated their ability to consistently provide products and services which meet customer needs, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. It is also expected that the certified company must continuously seek to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the standard.
Meanwhile, ISO 14001 is designed and implemented to help organisations mitigate the business’ impact on the environment by complying with international environmental law, and the standard expects due commitment towards continually improving upon these processes.
Powerstar’s attainment of and dedication towards continuously upholding the ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards demonstrates the importance, intent and integrity towards customers and the environment at large, a defining factor of Powerstar’s commitment towards upholding the lean 6-Sigma principles of continual improvement.
Powerstar strives to continuously innovate and enhance energy operations which stem from its focus on engineering which it follows through into the production of its solutions such as the Powerstar VIRTUE energy storage solution.
Powerstar VIRTUE is an integrated energy management and microgrid solution with smart grid control. The system can work with renewable generation assets to deliver heightened control and flexibility over electricity usage. As with all Powerstar solutions, Powerstar VIRTUE is a bespoke product, developed with the customer’s requirements and priorities at the forefront. This enables Powerstar customers to benefit from flexibility, lowered energy costs and greater security of supply.
When Powerstar VIRTUE is combined with complementary technologies such as voltage optimisation, which optimises and conditions incoming power supply, additional benefits can be obtained such as reducing costs, CO2 emissions and reducing reliance from the National Grid.
