Powerstar have been named as a supplier on Crown Commercial Service’s Demand Management and Renewables (DMR) framework, allowing us to offer market-leading battery energy storage solutions to public sector organisations through the CCS framework. Powerstar have been named for Lot 2.1 and 2.2, supplying batteries under and over £1,000,000 in battery respectively.
As a CCS supplier, Powerstar provide Battery Energy Storage (BESS) expertise across multiple stages of project delivery, from feasibility studies to installation, maintenance, and disposal. Together, the new DMR and Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) frameworks replace the Heat Network and Electricity Generation Assets (HELGA) DPS agreement to provide effective routes to market for technologies to support public sector decarbonisation.
Managed by the Estates Decarbonisation Scheme, the Demand Management and Renewables framework covers solar PV, heat pumps, battery energy storage, building retrofit and support for heat networks, energy efficiency and carbon net zero. This allows public sector organisations a quick route to market to support their carbon reduction targets, accessing suppliers that can design, build, operate and maintain demand management and renewable energy projects.
The framework is designed to provide a route to market for providers of products and services recommended by the Government Net Zero strategy and Net Zero Estates Playbook.
Solon Mardapittas, Chief Executive Officer at Powerstar, said:
“This new CCS framework is a crucial means for organisations to save time and resources through easy access to energy management experts. At Powerstar, public sector clients make up a significant and vital part of our client base. We work with large- and smaller-scale sites to help them reduce costs and make energy savings through BESS technology. With RM6314, public sector clients can more easily find technologies and solutions to save money, with straightforward purchasing processes designed to facilitate their journey to Net Zero. Through Lot 2 of this framework, our engineering team at Powerstar look forward to helping more organisations implement BESS technology and reap the many benefits it brings for cost-savings and sustainability.”
For organisations implementing Net Zero strategies and looking to reduce energy consumption, Powerstar have long been recognised as a leading UK partner. They work with NHS Trusts, councils, schools and universities, and public leisure centres to lower energy bills while cutting carbon emissions.
In a difficult economic climate, potential cost savings are critical. CCS supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2021/22, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits equal to £2.8 billion – supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.
