Powerstar MAX Upgrade FAQ

As part of Powerstar’s commitment to the continuous development of its portfolio of products and solutions, which are developed to meet the ever-changing needs of its customers, Powerstar is proud to announce the latest upgrade to Powerstar MAX which replaces the HMI with an online remote monitoring system.

Please see below for the FAQ on this upgrade.

Q: Does this upgrade affect existing orders with an HMI?

A: No, existing orders where an HMI is requested will be honoured.

Q: Can the existing installations be retrofitted to include the upgrade?

A: Yes, but at a cost which is determined on a case by case basis.

Q: Does this upgrade affect Powerstar LITE?

A: Powerstar LITE continues to operate without an HMI, no further upgrade has been made.

Q: Is there a price change?

A: There is no change to the price of a standard system. If an HMI is still desired there is an additional charge.

Q: Are the incoming (grid) parameters measured and represented on the portal?

A: Yes, many elements including the incoming voltage, power and harmonics are all monitored and this information can be viewed on the trends and harmonic pages respectively.

Q: Is it possible to have more trends e.g. system temperature trend?

A: The trends page is designed to deliver insights for ongoing improvements. Aspects such as system temperature are instead reported in real-time as there should be minimal variance and any extreme variance would be reported through an alarm.

Q: What format do the trend files download as?

A: Trend files are provided in .csv file format which can be opened with Excel.

Q: Can we access a live demonstration of the portal to understand it better?

A: Instead of a live platform, we have created a demonstration video which is able to simulate a number of scenarios to show how the platform looks and responds.
