Smart Factory Expo is about bringing together technologies involved in the digital revolution in manufacturing. The energy transition brings with it potential for increased power disruption and its been wonderful to discuss how we can help solve the energy challenges manufacturers face.
A common question was how companies protect their business against potential power losses where a lost production cycle can cost many thousands of pounds, sometimes hundreds of thousands. One visitor commented that all the technological development to their production line would be worthless without power to keep it running.
This is a concern we hear often and something our Battery Energy Storage systems can help with, and are helping customers, in real-world situations. Make their power more reliable. One such customer is Parkinson Spencer refractories.

CHALLENGE
A West Yorkshire manufacturing site experienced increasingly frequent shutdowns caused by disruption to grid supply. Each disruption resulted in a lengthy shutdown. Each estimated to cost £20,000 – £100,000 in lost profits, materials, energy and labour costs.
SOLUTION
Containerised 250kW BESS and voltage optimisation system. As well as protecting from disruption, the system also delivered a 5% reduction in energy costs.
While our stand was often busy, It was also good to see a large attendance for Business Development Manager Stuart Little’s presentation on “Solving The Energy Trilemma for UK Manufacturers”
