The client — a leading manufacturer and supplier of load banks — provides power testing solutions across various industries, including utilities, oil and gas, data centres, shipping, banking, mining, construction, and the public sector.
Challenge
As part of its commitment to delivering high-performance equipment, the manufacturer required a range of reactors, from 0.25kVA R to 80kVA R, for integration into its load banks to accommodate a tight delivery deadline on a large production order.
Faced with shorter deadlines, the manufacturer requested 150 single-phase reactors with a reduced lead time, weeks ahead of the usual schedule.
This challenge required an even faster reaction from Powerstar, with a flexible and efficient response to ensure the client’s production timelines stayed on track.

Over several months, Powerstar worked closely with the client to refine design specifications, layout, and footprint requirements of the reactors, ensuring seamless integration into their equipment. This process involved:
- Producing technical specifications to customer requirements
- Customising reactor dimensions to fit within the client’s load banks
- Making alternations, such as adding extra sensors to certain reactors to meet specific operational needs.
- Reviewing pricing structures and applying bulk discounts

Both parties approved the final load bank designs, and—despite the shorter timeframe—Powerstar successfully delivered all 150 units to specification. Thanks to this fast, focused collaboration, the manufacturer’s project remained firmly on track.
