DAVID SEABRIDGE

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

David joined the Powerstar team as Chief Financial Officer in September 2022 and is responsible for all company finances, FP&A activity, and Human Resources. He is qualified accountant with over 20 years of senior Board Level experience in financial, commercial, and operational roles in high growth and complex businesses where he has been key to strategy and market development. He has a reputation for driving fast, sustainable, profitable growth both organically and through the identification, execution and integration of acquisitions and building value for shareholders. David has a proven track record of implementing change management initiatives through deep involvement in the company’s operations, sponsoring critical appraisals of all aspects of each business unit and introducing continuous improvement methodologies.

BOB DRUMMOND

EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

Bob has 40 years experience in the oil & gas industry and has served as Chief Executive Officer for 20 years before becoming Hydrasun’s Executive Chairman in 2024. Before this he worked in senior management positions for major energy and services companies both in the UK and internationally. He has extensive experience in strategic and operations management. Bob has an MBA from Aberdeen University.

COLIN WELSH

Colin is International Partner at SCF Partners. Prior to that, Colin served as Head of International Energy Investment Banking at Simmons & Company International.

STEVE LOCKARD

NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Steve is the former CEO and current Chairman of TPI Composites and led the company to become the largest independent global wind blade manufacturer, with over 15,000 employees. He also recently helped spearhead the creation of the newly established American Clean Power Association (ACP).

David Clark

DAVID CLARK

INTERIM EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

With a background in electrical engineering, David spent his early career working internationally in the oil and gas and energy sectors, with roles in Sudan, China, Japan, India, France, the UAE, and Indonesia. Since then, he has gained experience in renewables and low-carbon solutions, with director and board roles in global PLCs and private equity-owned businesses.

David has a proven track record of expanding businesses into new markets and driving growth through technology and business process innovations to create new customer and business value. He has successfully navigated complex challenges, consistently boosting performance and top-line growth for a range of companies.

ALAN MCLEAN

INTERIM COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR

Alan started his career as a mechanical engineer specialising in hydraulics before moving into international sales and executive management roles. As an executive leader across two growing energy services companies, Alan has played an integral role in transforming investor value and
driving major global organic/acquisitional growth. 

As active director of four international joint venture companies and director across 47 trading subsidiary entities, with a leading role in due diligence, negotiation, acquisition and integration of 16 businesses across 14 years. Alan has a proven track record in institutionalising business governance, minimising risk and spearheading robust, ambitious plans while galvanising those who work around him.

LEE RUSSELL

Technical Director

Lee Russell is a seasoned engineering professional with a background in Physics from The University of Warwick. His extensive experience spans diverse industries, including aerospace, defence, automotive, rail, food processing and renewables.

As Technical Director, Lee is in charge of new product development and testing, the deliver of bespoke microgrid solutions, and ensuring the engineering at Powerstar is of the highest industry standads.

Known for his talent nurturing and adeptness in driving change, Lee brings a pragmatic approach and an unwavering commitment to excellence, ensuring innovation and success across all technical functions.

DR. OLIVIA ZENG

lead of studies

Olivia is responsible for the delivery of various technical studies and analytical reports required by our customers, as part of our product and solutions delivery. She supports her team in developing advanced modelling, simulation, and AI algorithms, creating, and implementing customised control strategies, designing PCB control boards, and developing SCADA systems for a range of applications, including smart grids, large-scale UPS, energy saving and optimisation systems.

With a PhD in Power System and Control Engineering and an impressive portfolio of papers, patents, and software copyrights, Olivia brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her current position.

JAMIE MCMASTER

Head of programme delivery

Jamie has worked in the green renewables and energy sector for 15 years, bringing a wealth of experience to his role as Head of Programme Delivery at Powerstar.

In his role at ITM Power, he played a key role in the first project to inject hydrogen into the UK natural gas grid since the 1950s. Jamie has delivered projects across the UK, France, Germany, Austria and Australia.

In addition to his technical expertise, Jamie brings a wealth of knowledge in planning, QA/QC, HAZOPs, DFMEA, DVPSOR, test planning (FAT&SAT), quality assurance, compliance (UKCA/CE), and logistics.

GEMMA QUIN

Gemma is an experienced and commercially orientated HR professional who is used to working at a strategic level with senior leaders and as a business partner across a general HR remit. Gemma joined Powerstar in May 2023, having spent over 20 years working in the discipline across various sectors.

Gemma is responsible for providing HR strategy, as well as managing payroll, employee benefits and recruitment, professional development and employee engagement.

SIMON PORT

HEAD OF product development

Simon joined Powerstar in March 2022. A Member of the IET, Simon has years of experience in the Oil and gas industry and extensive knowledge of Low Voltage AC System and DC systems.  

As Head of Product Development, Simon is responsible for developing new products across the Powerstar portfolio, as well as overseeing the certification process.

His attention to detail and passion for electrical engineering means Simon has established a proven track record of leading engineering teams with a strong focus on accuracy and integrity. Simon is responsible for design and engineering at Powerstar, as well as ensuring compliance with all required regulations.

CHRIS BOYD

Head of sheq

Chris brings over 30 years of experience in leading quality and health & safety initiatives within the manufacturing industry, fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence throughout his career.

In his role, Chris oversees all aspects of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ), ensuring that Powerstar’s practices not only meet regulatory standards but also reflect our unwavering commitment to innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement. His leadership focuses on driving best practices, minimising risk, and creating a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible workplace that supports both our people and our long-term business goals.

SHAUN STANCLIFFE

head of operations

Shaun brings 35 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, having started his career as a machine operator and progressively advancing to roles such as Team Leader, Supervisor, Production Manager, Operations Manager, and Operations Director.

He is a strong advocate of lean manufacturing techniques and is Toyota-trained, with a proven track record of implementing 5s, TPM, SMED, Kanban, and Kaizen methodologies in various manufacturing environments.

Shaun’s diverse experience spans both SMEs and large corporations, managing factory sites across Europe. His broad international experience and commitment to operational excellence will be fundamental as we continue to enhance our operations.

Voltage optimisation has reduced the total electricity consumption of London City Hall by 13.6% in terms of total kWh consumption.
